- A corporation or affiliation that joins as a member for a one-year period (January – December) and can nominate up to 3 individuals as members.
- Receives discounted rates to Conferences and Congresses for all 3 members
- Free advertisement in the Newsletter, and one advert per year on the website
- An affiliate member in good standing shall be entitled to receive such benefits as may be formulated in the rules other than the right to vote and hold office.

It is the objective of SAALAS to:
Promote the advancement of laboratory animal science for the benefit of both animals and man,
Encourage and facilitate the exchange of scientific information in all fields of laboratory animal science,
Foster co-operation between investigators and laboratory animal personnel for their mutual benefit,
Actively promote education and training in laboratory animal science and technology and establish recognised Standards of proficiency for laboratory animal personnel,
